I was told that the name Batangas came from the Spanish colonial period. The colonizers misinterpreted the local terms of the native people. The name Batangas is a fusion between the words, "Bark" and "Gas". The Spaniards believed that they were told the name of the settlement, and that was the origin of Batangas

When I was young, I thought that the Alamat Ng Taal Lake and Alamat Ng Taal Volcano were one and the same. But through this project, I found out that there is actually seperate, unrelated stories regarding their origin. So cool!
